Create a QR

Privacy policy

How your information is used when you create a QR. Last updated September 15, 2026.

Links and artwork

When you enter a link, our server requests that public page and relevant assets to look for its logo. The destination site receives those requests from our server. Uploaded logos are processed in your browser. Your browser extracts the brand color, validates the QR, and creates your PNG, SVG, PDF and ZIP. Your download design and uploaded logo are not sent to our server.

Do not put passwords, private access tokens, or other secrets in a QR link: anyone who scans it can read its destination.

Browser storage

We keep download designs, including their links and logos, in this browser tab’s session storage so you can download again or return to editing. If storage is unavailable, the design is held in memory for the current visit. Closing the tab or clearing site storage may remove your saved design. We also save your light or dark theme preference locally.

You can clear this information in your browser settings. No purchase cookie is required to download.

Optional support

If you choose to support IndieQR, Ko-fi opens in a new tab. Any information you submit there is handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers under their own privacy policies. Your QR design is not sent to Ko-fi by this application.

Service and support information

Our servers process QR inputs to provide the requested service; the application does not maintain a database of your saved QR designs. Hosting infrastructure may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and error logs, to deliver and secure the service.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to respond, investigate issues, and answer your questions. Service providers involved in hosting and email may process information needed for those functions.

Scans and external sites

IndieQR encodes the destination directly and does not operate a scan-tracking redirect for these QR codes. Scanning takes people to the destination site, whose own privacy practices apply.

Your choices and questions

Contact hello@indieqr.co for privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information associated with you. Your available rights depend on your location.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above shows when it was last updated.
